Character Theft

Good day, Wolfhome!

Character theft is a tricky subject for the Art Review Team (ART). As they discuss each case, there are a lot of issues brought up while nit picking through the characters brought to their attention. At least half of the parties involved in the accusations are generally not pleased with the end results of the ART's discussions. Usually, due to copyright issues, more often than not, the accuser is the party least satisfied.

Because of these issues, the ART would like the users to take the time in making the following considerations before filing a report.

*Are there less than three noticeable differences in the characters up for comparison?
*Is there any way of determining accurate creation dates of the characters?

If your answer is "yes" to all of the above, please feel free to PM any of the ART members with your concerns. Please keep in mind that any accusation is to be kept private, either in PM(s) to the ART and/or the opposing party. If your complaint is posted publicly, it will be removed from view and you will get a warning about continuing such behavior.

~Thank you from the Art Review Team

A Cherokee Legend

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy.

"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?"

The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

What Do You Believe?

As Halloween comes around the corner to scare us just like every year, you're probably getting ideas together on what you'd like to dress up as. A common Halloween theme is a dark night, with the large round mood at its brightest on the spooky night of October 30th. With these come a well known topic; a werewolf.

A werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope is often described to be a gruesome half human, half wolf originating from Europe as a European character. The idea of a man turning into another animal is pretty universal. Other cultures seem to have developed their own beastmen, such as the Kitsune (werefox). But when you think of a Kitsune, some think of a cute, furry fox. When you think of a werewolf and think scary thoughts...have you ever wondered why they became such a frightening topic?

The topic of fear of these beasts seem to have been strong in Austria and France. It has been said that France alone held 20,000 werewolf trials! There was a large amount of werewolf hunts, too. But much of what a traditional Halloween werewolf is today is simply a creation of Hollywood. In 1941, a movie called "Wolf Man" starred by Lon Chaney surely set the tone for what people seem to believe today. But you will come to see that every different culture has their own opinion of who and what these beasts are. What do you believe?

War Horse

While looking through the threads I came across under Critter Chatter a thread presented by Akaikaze about a life sized horse puppet. The thread is called War Horse and and is a play currently being performed in Europe and the United States. ~Timberwolf

War Horse is a life sized puppet of a horse. It's story is based off of Michael Morpurgo's 1982 children's novel. It's the story of Albert, a young man, and his horse, Joey. The horse is sold to the cavalry during WW1, and Albert enlists into the war in hopes of finding, and rescuing his horse friend.
